Bedroom = Sactuary

IMG_7566Thanks to all those who stopped by unannounced in January! You kept us on our toes and we’re sticking to our goal to have a house tidy enough for surprise visitors.

We appreciate your help, but friends and family are not invited along for February’s nesting goal. We’re making our bedroom a place of refuge. If I’m to be honest, our bedroom is often the last priority when cleaning. It’s a room rarely seen by visitors and we have a pretty small boudoir, making it a challenge to organize and declutter. But no more excuses, February’s all about the bedroom. Got any tips or strategies for how to make your bedroom a place of zen? Please share!

  1. The biggest thing I can say is to make my bed every day. Some people are in this habit and they wouldn’t dream of not making their bed, but it is probably the singlemost important thing I can do to make my room look put together and tidy.

    Fill it with things you love. I’m slowly collecting items I like and they are FINALLY starting to come together. My bullfight poster from Spain, the bedspread i spent more than half a year searching for, a guitar hung on the wall, just the right bed frame, etc.

    My anti spam work is ikea? really?
